PE and Sport Premium for Primary Schools – 2017/18

Former Prime Minister David Cameron announced that the Government will commit funding Primary PE and Sport to 2020, with £750m to be invested over the course of the next parliament.

At Gatcombe Park we are raising the profile of PE by placing a greater emphasis on sport through participating in competitions in the community and focusing on healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing. The aim is to tackle physical inactivity and to ensure children are included in a wide variety of activities throughout the school day.

Quality of provision will be measured in the following ways:

  • Lesson observations

  • Pupil questionnaires

  • After school club participation

  • Staff confidence and ability in PE teaching

For 2017-2018 we received £8,900 worth of funding. Outlined below is how the money has been allocated.
