Swallow

Welcome to Swallow Class!

Mr Bradshaw, Mrs Hobby & Mrs Valentine

Spring term

Welcome to Year 2!

This term we will be reading 'Meerkat Mail' by Emily Gravett, The Storm Whale by Benji Davies, The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear and Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown.

In Maths, we will be leaning all about addition and subtraction within 100 and we will be continuing to learn our timetables for x2, x5 and x10.

Our Science learning is about Living things and their habitat. We will also be learning about Materials.  In Geography we'll be learning about the United Kingdom coastline and investigating How have humans changed our seas?  After half term, our History learning will be focussed on Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Elon Musk to investigate the question Should we compare our achievements with others?

Please do continue to support your child with reading 1:1 at home. This is vital to build fluency and the love of reading.  If your child reads 3 times a week at home and it is recorded in their reading log, they will get a house point.

If you need to contact me regarding anything, please phone/email the school office.

Best wishes

Mr Bradshaw
