Task 1: Sort the Food into Groups
This week, we will be looking at what makes a balanced diet. Have a look at the video and PowerPoint below to find out more.
Then, sort the food into the correct groups. Can you add any more foods into the different groups?
Task 2: Create a Balanced Plate of Food
Using your knowledge of the food groups, have a go at creating a balanced plate of food that you would enjoy. Think about what food groups you could include and how much of the plate they should take up.
You could draw and label your own choice of foods in the correct part of the Eat Well Plate template, or cut out the pictures below to stick on.
Task 3: Keep a Food Diary
Have a go at keeping a diary of the food and drink you have over a few days or a week. You could draw each meal, write the names of the ingredients the meal contained, and what food group they belong in.
