Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We had a lucky group of Year 6 children who took part in a trip to Fratton Park. This trip was run by Mitre, who we found out were founded in 1815.
Children learnt about product development and marketing. They also designed their own football to enter a competition.
Some fantastic designs and a free football topped off the trip. Thank you Mitre and Portsmouth in the Community.
A fantastic few days away and the Year 6 children were amazing. From scaling the vertical gym to the teamwork and communication skills needed in the problem solving.
The weather was not kind but it didn't stand in our way (it actually made the shelter building the quickest that I have seen). However, the rain cleared for our annual bonfire and we had some amazing Brownies lead the campfire singing. The teams also engaged in keeping the campsite clean with some super washing up and cleaning of the mess tent.
Most amazingly, it was the level of leadership and teamwork skills. Everyone worked well as a team and improved their communication skills to complete their challenges and encourage each other.
We were so proud of everyone and there were some weary heads on the coach home.
Sensei Richard and Sensei Molly came into Gatcombe and gave us an awesome demonstration of some of the key blocks and routines in Karate. It was amazing to see. Children have letters in their book bags or come and ask at the office to find out more. Karate runs out of Gatcombe park on Thursday afternoons.
