Teamwork - Respect - Aim High
This term Swallow Class will be reading the text 'On Sudden Hill' by Linda Smith.
This text will be used to support our writing and we will be using this text for inspiration.
In Mathematics the focus over this term will be the place value of numbers up to 100 and using partitioning to solve addition and subtraction problems to 100. Knowing number bonds to 10 will really help with this.
In Creative Curriculum Swallows are studying the question 'Where would an alien rather land, Portsmouth or Alice Springs?'
The class will be looking at the similarities and differences between the two locations and mostly focusing on physical and human geography of the areas.
We will also be building models of landmarks in Portsmouth as well as creating maps to help the aliens navigate our local area.
Our PE days are Thursday and Friday.
For homework children will be getting weekly spellings and there is the expectation that children are logging into both NumBots and TT Rockstars for weekly practise of their basic number facts.
Selection books will be changed regularly and please see your child's reading record to see how you can support your child with reading or speak to Mr Bradshaw.
