Home learning resources are regularly updated on the class page for your child

Welcome to

Gatcombe Park Primary School

Teamwork - Respect - Aim High

Welcome to Swallow Class!

During our school closure we will endeavour to add up to date information to support you with your home learning routine. We will display suggested timetable ideas in the next few days to help you to allocate time during your day although this will be entirely flexible for your own situation.

Home learning packs have been sent home for many children. For those who were not in school to receive them before Friday 20th March we will be unable to deliver these due to government restrictions about unnecessary journeys outside.

We have added plenty for you to get started with during your home learning experience on to this website and will continue to do so. Please check regularly for new material.

Thank you in advance for your support in your child's learning during these unprecedented times.

30th March

I hope your first week of home learning has gone well and Swallows class members have been wowing family members with their knowledge.

The class pages have been updated so that they are easier to navigate with individual subject pages and also pages broken down into each week's learning for Mathematics and English

If you've missed the week 1 learning the links will remain live so try to revisit them, when you get an opportunity.

Hopefully you've found a routine that suits everyone in your home. We've done a routine at our house which has worked pretty well so far (picture below). Remember to use our resources such as TT Rockstars, NumBots, SumDog (if possible) and remember to quiz and practise spellings from your Home Spellings Booklet. These can be quiet, independent  activities that can fit into a daily routine.

Have a great week!

Please see below all material for your child's home learning:

Your child has received Sum Dog login details within their home learning pack. Activities will be set on a regular basis with additional challenges to complete.

Children’s learning
We know that many of you will have been supporting your child’s learning at home during this time. This may be learning that you have accessed from the school website or fun activities that you have been doing together to keep your spirits up.
Has your child done some drawing, maths, writing, den building, art and craft, cooking or something else that they would like to share?
If you have a photo of these activities, you can send them to our dedicated email address, with the following instructions:
- Child’s name and class in the subject header
- Maximum of two photos per week
- School are unable to respond to emails or mark work
- Only photos of children’s work and celebrations please – all other communication to the school office.
- A selection of photos will be posted on the school website: (Menu – Children –
Gallery). These will be updated weekly but not all photos may appear.
